WHAT TO SEE

Piazza degli Scacchi: Located in the heart of the historic center, this rectangular square is historic and scenic: it was built in the 14th century and gives its name to the famous reenactment of the “Chess Game with Living Characters.”
Lower Castle of Marostica + walls: The castle on the plain and the city walls surrounding the village are typical elements of Marostica’s fortified structure: the view from the walls is panoramic and evocative.
Upper Castle of Marostica: Perched on a hill (Monte Pausolino) above the city, it offers a dominant position and a more solitary atmosphere compared to the center, perfect for those who want a scenic walk.
The landscape and surrounding hills: Outside the historic center there are routes among vineyards, trails on the hills, and quiet roads ideal for a walk or light hike.
